I've been busy and tired lately. It's football season and I'm helping with the OU alumni club. I really hope we can get people to come to the watch parties...and by people I mean more than 10. There are about 400+ in the area so hopefully people will get excited and come out.

I might be getting some help at work and I am sooo excited!! I'm taking some needed time off to de-stress in October.

I think Clarice is allergic to straw/hay. My apartment put some down over a mound of dirt and every time I take her in that area she gets all itchy.

Okay, I've missed Victoria Beckham's new show every time it's been on. I finally got a change to catch it on Bravo (which I think it should have been on instead of NBC in the first place).

I've been kinda stressed out lately and I had an urge to paint. I've been thinking about making some felt owls and decided to paint three that I think are waaayy cute.

And that stripe of purple on Clare's head is what happens when your dog sneaks up on you while you have a paint brush in yer hand.

Check out this yummy felt I picked up at hob lob yesterday! I have been looking for a business card holder that would accommodate paint chip size cards.

I ended up making this pouch to carry my cards in. I think it turned out pretty good!

well I'm kinda done with my circle journal. Finally finished Cammeron's topic on my phobia. I decided to do it on my fear of zombies. I couldn't bring myself to print off pics of Zombies so I just did this simple layout.

I also worked on the cover of my 8x8 album. It took a while to figure out if "memoirs" or "memoir" was the correct word to use. For the first page, I asked my favorite people what they liked most about me.

I'm sitting in the Dallas airport after an awesome but short trip to Oklahoma. I cried after I said goodbye to Cammeron and I cried when I said goodbye to my mother. OOOOOklahoma!! where the wind comes sweeping down the plain, and the waving wheat can sure smell sweet when the wind comes right after the rain.....There's more, but you get what I'm sayin. I am sooo excited for my trip to Oklahoma.

Last night I finally figured out what to do with the chipboard book I got from my happy mail partner. It's perfect for my Europe pictures.

Today was my carotid artery scan. I wasn't sure how they were going to do it, but it was awesome! The woman took an ultrasound of the arteries in my neck in order to detect any signs of heart disease. I didn't know that the arteries in your body had different sounds depending on what organ they supply blood to. Your skin isn't "requesting" as much blood as a liver, so the artery that supplies it's blood sounds low and slower. Compared to your brain, which needs a lot of blood, that artery is faster and has a higher tone. The entire time I was waiting I had scenes from Grey's running through my head. I'm still in shock from last nights show.

in a spinning class. A local studio had a free yoga and spin weekend. I decided to get over my fear and try the intro to spinning class. I had a great time!! We went over the basics of the bike and had a nice little ride. Who knew I was a 3-Flat-zero...that's bike talk for ya'll that don't know.

There was a fire at my apartment tonight. On the other side of my living room wall is a staircase, in between that staircase and the wall was the fire. Thank God for my neighbors who saw the smoke and smelled the plastic burning. They woke Clare and I up and yelled for me to get out/get something to put it out. We got the fire out and called all the necessary people.

The courtesy office for my apartment complex was soo rude!! I had to leave a message but forgot to include my phone number. I gave him ALL the necessary information he needed to get to the apartment, but my phone number (which I immediately left on his pager). While I was outside, I forgot my phone in my apt and when I called him back he was rude! When he got here, he had the NERVE to complain about how I didn't leave my number blah blah blah. I over heard him talking to my neighbor and I walked over and got "ethnic" with him.

YOU try and remember phone message manners when THE WALL OUTSIDE OF YOUR APARTMENT IS ON FIRE!!!

I didn't really think anyone was trying to harm me until the investigator asked if anyone had a grudge against me...ME...Latisha? Not in this state :) I'm trying to keep things light because at least it wasn't an electrical thing or actually inside my apartment.
I'm sorry for waking you up Cammeron, I needed to tell someone in order for it to be real.

Praise the Lord for keeping Clarice and I safe.

Cools Shirts, Candles, and Bee stings

I will start with the cool shirts... The office in Dallas has a softball team and we all got shirts even if we don't play on the team. Pacino and I opened ours on Friday. We decided to wear them around and take some pictures. I'm number 28...which is cool because its an even number :)

Now on to candles... I've been looking for some new candles with a fresh scent. I stopped in Z Gallerie because I love their candles!! I got the Thai Lemongrass...It smells soooo good.

As I handed my credit card to the cashier, I felt satisfied with my purchase...until I felt this extreme pain in my left hand!! I looked down at my hand and had a bee, yes a bee, stuck to it. The little biotch had stung me!! Me, Latisha, the girl who avoids all insects if she can!!

After some screaming and a little praying the cashier and two customers helped me sit down and scrape out the stinger. One of the girls was nice enough to whack the bee again just to make sure it was dead. Was this a sign from God that I did not need to purchase these candles? I don't know, but after some antibiotic and a cold pack I took my candles and left.

I would like to thank Cammeron for making her husband look up how to treat bee stings. Thanks girl!

The Scrap Shack had some awesome sales the last three days. Since I'm trying to build my supplies I decided to stop by and pick up some Prima flowers. Not sure when I'll use them but they sure do look good sitting on my desk.

I also couldn't walk by the buttons without picking some up :) I bought two more jars to add to the fam. Don't they look so cute.

Why do I love Target? Because I bought this lamp for $15.
I wanted something that would match the decor of my bedroom but not cost me $60. It even has a chain thingie to turn the light on and off...no more having to search for that little nob!

Now all I need to get are some more light bulbs, I borrowed this one from another lamp.

I had to join in and try my own felt creation. I wasn't able to participate in the ugly doll challenge, but I really wanted to see how I'd do.

And here she is...my own felt robot! Not sure what to name her, I'm open to some suggestions.

There are a lot of things I'd do differently, but I had lots of fun with it. I'm going to try another later this week. And yes, the arms and legs are different lengths on purpose.

Been sick all day and I thought doing some layouts would help.

Since I had a migraine today I tried not to think too hard, so I sat in bed and tried to come up with circle journal topics! I came across a favorite number layout and thought that would be fun...I really wanted to use my new buttons, but didn't want to go overboard.

aka...America's Next Top Dog Model. I've been trying to work with Clarice on her modeling skills. I can't get her to sit still long enough to get a shot that's not a big blur. Treats don't really work, calling her name doesn't work, trying to sneak the camera out doesn't work either. As soon as she sees the camera or hears the lens move she has to run around like a mad woman. Maybe I just suck at taking pictures...

And yes, thats my dog licking the back of my neck...it could have been a nice pic of Clare and me and she ruined it...

She got the Pug Princess Pink it says Chanel and has a black fleece collar. I think my fave is the Sun Shiney Day Hoodie! Maybe when it rains, she'll go outside now.

I love the fact that my dog will wear clothes!! My problem is that she's not the best model sometimes.

I finally got out of the house and it wasnt to go to the mall or work. This weekend was the CIAA basketball tournament and they had a "fan experience" thing set up at the Charlotte Convention Center. It was great.

DJ Unk performed while I was there and I got this great picture of the stage. "I say do it how you do it...Gone and walk it out! Walk. Walk. Walk. Now walk it out!"

Love that song!! Only wish I could do the dance right.
